Park City- Tuesday, March 31st, the boy's tennis team took their first victory of the season against their long-time rivals, the Wasatch Wasps.
They won on their home court, dominating every match of the day, including all Junior Varsity positions.
The number one singles player, Sam Miller, won without much of a challenge. He served well and won most of his points off of clean winners. He finished in two quick sets: 6-0, 6-0, without losing a single game.
Jack Burrus, number two singles player, also had a quick and flawless win. He simply overpowered his opponent. The final score, 6-0, 6-0.
Third singles player, John Packham, also brought in a win, losing only two games. His opponent had a strong serve, but Packham ended up taking the win in the end. The final score; 6-1, 6-1.
The doubles teams also won both of their matches. Number two doubles team, Caleb Wray and Jackson Engen, won their match easily. Their final score was 6-0, 6-0.
The most exciting match of the day was the fight between the number one doubles teams. After nearly two hours of playing, Park City ended up victorious after a too-close-for-comfort tie breaker. They won with only a two point difference in the tie break. After two full sets and tiebreak for the third, their final score was 6-3, 0-6 (12-10).
Junior varsity won all of their matches as well!
