Everyday, Park City High students are given the luxury of going out for lunch. Students have multiple options that are conveniently close to the school, with a variety of culinary options available within walking distance. These restaurants include Burger King, Einstein’s, Booster Juice, Pizza Hut, Nick & Willy’s, Souperman, and Davanzas, as well as the numerous establishments within the Park City Marketplace Plaza. Since they have such a large student customer base, many of these restaurants cater to students with exclusive high school lunch deals..

Students often miss out on a great deal by leaving for lunch at all. A full meal at school at the school cafeteria costs only $2.50. This reasonable price is not often taken advantage of because so many students eat out for lunch. Junior Brandi Peterson leaves school for lunch and says that on average, “lunch costs me anywhere from $5-10 dollars.” If students are spending $10 dollars a day for lunch, they spend around $50 on lunch per week.

However, for those that don't necessarily find school food all that appetizing, there are still affordable meals from neighborhood restaurants. Davanza's Pizza has what they aptly call the "high school special" : for $6.00, you can get a good size piece of pizza, fries and a drink to fill you up.  One Davanza's employee, known only as Dan, said that “Many students don ‘t ask about our high school special and pay more.” Students can save a lot of their money by simply asking if a restaurant has any high school deals or specials.

Another restaurant with a good deal is Nick & Willy’s pizza. Students can get a drink and pizza for only $5. The deal gets even sweeter at Pizza Hut, where $5.00 gets you unlimited drink refills, unlimited pizza, and unlimited breadsticks - both regular and cinnamon-sugar. At Leger's, you can get a sandwich and a drink for a discounted price as a high school student, and at Flippin' Burgers, a normally expensive burger, fries and drink will cost a high school student only $8.00.

However, sudents must ask for these deals to be awarded them.  Most local food locations do NOT advertise their specials and often employees don’t offer the information without being asked. Students need to be more aware of these specials so they can save money at lunch. So next time you're out for your daily meal, take advantage of these deals and be sure to ask employees if they have any specials that will save you money - you may be surprised by how many will say "yes.".

You talk about Davanza's,

You talk about Davanza's, which in the plaza you mentioned in the beginning, having a deal, but you never talk about Souperman having a good deal, which they do; a cup of soup and a soda or a bowl of soup for five dollars even.
