Park City-It's been four years since the miners have advanced past the first round of the playoffs, and they finally managed to catch their break.
The Miners lined up Friday afternoon determined to outplay Emery to guarantee them a quarterfinal slot; and they more than earned it, crushing Emery in a 41-7 creaming.
"We took control up front and just kept pressing trying to get the ball down field and it worked. It wasn't our best game but we did alright," Junior Andrew Proctor said. "It was good we got to play this team to get back into it."
Dylan Chenoweth had his fire burning from the first to last whistle, with 203 yards rushing on 23 carries. On top of that, a couple touchdowns.
The miners had a slightly shaky first half, with a handfull of fumbles that lost them the chance for a shutout. But with an interception by Junior Alex Molinaro, Park City started to gain back control.
"It was a good game, we had some trouble holding on to the ball but other than that we were okay," recalled Molinaro.
Still the Miners pulled together and held the spartans until the clock struck zero.
